BLACK SWAN 🇮🇹 La Divina Commedia _ The Divine Comedy [Symphonic Power Metal]
I've been asked several times to revisit La Divina Commedia, the Symphonic Death Metal/Avantgarde Black Metal project by Apokalypsis and Court of the Damned, in a Symphonic Power Metal vein. After the acclaimed Asterion and Farinelli, it's now Black Swan's turn again: a first version in Italian with the lyrics of the Supreme Poet is being performed, followed by a completely different alternative version in English. I've been asked by many people to write songs in languages other than English, and from now on I'll try to maintain this approach to please both those who want Japanese, Brazilian, and Italian bands, and those who prefer songs in English. I build a lore around each record to give it more depth, credibility, and immersion. I was asked to make the songs available on Spotify as well, so I created a dedicated account. I’ve worked in typography, a craft that disappeared with home printers. I ran a VHS and DVD rental shop, then a videogame store, both closed down with the rise of on-demand TV, streaming, and digital platforms. I was also a freelance graphic designer, and years ago I released a few amateur records through the American label blackmetal dot com.
